PPA 223: ThanK You My Friend!!

Displaying 10-9.png

Here there my fellow stampers!!!  We have another fabulous week here for our design team!!  Can you believe it's almost time for Halloween?  I can't!!  It still feels like summer here in South Texas.  I'm drinking Pumpkin Spice Latte's and it's 94 degrees!!  Something is wrong with this picture people!!!  Anyway, I was going to jump right in and do a Halloween card with these colors.  However, I forced myself to go outside my comfort zone and try something different.
What do you think?

I was inspired by a visit with my dear friend Mary from Annapolis, MD.  Regardless of what's going on in our lives, our friendship is solid, supportive, fun and comforting.  I know I can reach out to her about anything anywhere.   Thank you my friend!!!  So, give your best friends out there a hug and maybe a card to say thank you for just being you.  You know they are priceless!!

Today's card I used the stamp set Feels Good and Bordering Blooms.  To add a pop of color I used the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to make the little flowers.  On the image I used black embossing powder to really get a bold image of the lettering.  Clean, simple and oh so special for my dear friend.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!!  I love to see your comments!!

PPA 221: A Touch of Fall

Hello from beautiful Bellingham, Washington!!!  My daughter and I are back in the Pacific Northwest for her to start back to school.  We're spending some time together shopping, eating and sight seeing before it's back to the books. So much fun!!!  Anyway, on to my card for this week!!  Today's sketch is just fabulous!!  So many options!!  What to do!!  I had a really had a hard time deciding and then it occurred to me... a window!!!  Here's my card below:

A touch of Fall is definitely in the air here in Bellingham.  It's beautiful!!!  In walking through the woods and looking at all the leaves I thought of a cabin and looking out the window at the trees.   The trees in the window are from the wonderful set "Lovely As A Tree."  The cabin wall is the background stamp from 'Truly Grateful." To give the feel of Fall I used
"Crumb Cake" and "Soft Suede."

PPA 219: "A Walk in the Wild"

Hi everyone!!!  This week we have a color challenge here for Team 2 with the Pals.  These colors are wonderful!!!  They remind me of Fall.  Oh how I wish it felt like Fall here in South Texas!!  We are still in the high 90's here.  We can tell the sun is changing, but it's still dog gone hot!  So in spirit of wishful thinking, I took these colors and made a Fall card with "Walk in the Wild" stamp set.  I just love the Moose in this set!  Here's my card below:

My card measures 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.  I sponged the edges and the wood grain to give it the rustic look.  The leaves are from "Lovely as a Tree."  I stamped them on Very Vanilla with Cajun Craze and then colored them with Crushed Curry.  Last I fussy cut each leaf to group together on the card.

Before you leave, I thought I might share with you a picture that gave me the inspiration for my card today.    This summer I took a trip to Jackson Hole, WY.  What an amazing experience this was hiking through the Great Tetons National Park and Yellow Stone.  Definitely a must on everyone's bucket list.  On a early morning hike with my husband, we were very fortunate to run across a Moose grazing in the marshes.  This was so cool!!!  Here's the picture I took below:

PPA 217: Get Well Owl!!

Hi my fellow stampers!!!  This weeks sketch by Nicole offers such possibilities to the imagination.  Love it!!   Today's card is for a friend who's in the hospital.  I thought this adorable little doctor owl would put a smile on her face.
Here's my card below:

I used the owl punch and then took the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch and cut it in half for the wings.  Cuteness overload!!!   I used the masking technique to get the "hoo!! hoo!!" from "Just Sayin'."  Then I used the "Word Bubble Framelits" die to cut it out.

PPA 215: Flower Frenzy

Hello there my friends!!  For this weeks fun color challenge I brought out my newest toy.  It's the awesome Flower Frenzy Bigz L Die.  Oh the possibilities!!!  Here's my card below:

These colors just begged for tropical flowers!!  Also, just for the record; I've been longing for a tropical escape.  Nothing sounds better than a seaside escape and drinks with an umbrella in them.  Sigh......  I'm sure this is because school is about to get back into session and my list of things is overwhelming.    I'll leave you today with a couple of beautiful pictures of the Great Teton Mountains from an earlier trip this summer.  I could definitely go back there too!!  Enjoy!!

PPA 211: The Open Sea

Hi my fellow stampers!!!  I love this weeks color palate!!  I instantly thought nautical and jumped right with one of my favorite stamp sets,  The Open Sea.   I also decided to have a little fun with you with my cover on the card.  I found one last card from the Simply Sent Note Card set and decided that would make a fabulous design for the top.  Here's my card below:

Before I go, I would like to leave you with a picture from Nags Head, NC.  The picture is the sunrise just after Hurricane Arther hit the North Carolina Coast.

My sister and her family road out the storm.  Nags Head did not have mandatory evacuation.  However, the winds were still up to 101mph.  I told her I was too old for her to have her sister worry like this again.  Ughummm....
